Jennifer Snyder
Jennifer Snyder’s career began with internet startups in 1990s Seattle before she moved into public relations for Chicago’s high-end chef and restaurant scene. She continued her public relations work in New York City before settling in Montclair. A lifelong baker, Snyder began baking for friends and family, and it quickly blossomed into the opening of The Little Daisy Bake Shop in 2011. Her mission was simple: bake everything from scratch — no boxes or mixes — and offer treats that tasted like they came straight from Mom’s oven.
The first location, at 626 Valley Road, was a kitchen space about as big as a closet. Snyder’s small team served nut- and peanut-free desserts that quickly gained local attention and earned the title of Best Boutique Bakery in Essex County. After less than two years, Little Daisy moved a few doors down to a space more than three times as big. Snyder’s philosophy of using real ingredients and baking fresh continues to shine through every product and in the bakery’s continued success.
Snyder also believes strongly in giving back to the community. Little Daisy has supported schools, churches, sports, arts and music programs, and many local nonprofit organizations. The shop has been the Official Bakery of the Montclair Film Festival for more than a decade.
Snyder’s favorite Little Daisy menu items are crumb cake and chocolate chip cookies. She and her family live in Montclair with their two Labradors, Daisy and Wrigley.
